Rehearsals

Timing & Attendance

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before scheduled rehearsal time. For rehearsals in the Alta Sierra stadium or VMS, plan to arrive even earlier.

Rehearsal Attire

  • Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that is easy to move around in and tennis/running shoes with an arch (no sandals or “skateboarding” shoes).

  • Jeans or denim shorts, or heavy shirts or pants are not acceptable as they greatly inhibit movement.

  • These rules apply to the front ensemble as well.

Rehearsal Essentials

  • Sunblock! (30+ SPF). Even if you think you are invincible to the sun.

  • A hat and sunglasses. You will be able to rehearse MUCH better without the sun in your eyes or pounding down on your head.

  • Water is a necessity. Everyone MUST bring their own RED Coleman 1/2 Gallon water jug filled with water to EVERY rehearsal. Write your name on it with a Sharpie!

    • Water is not provided at rehearsal.

    • Please make sure you fill your cooler before every rehearsal.

    • Short breaks will be given periodically while we rehearse.

    • Everyone must drink water!

  • An instrument in working order

  • Your music binder (white or black, 1”)

  • Lanyard, dotcards, and a pencil!

Rehearsal Etiquette

  • Be ON TIME! Be in the band room no later than 15 minutes before scheduled rehearsal time

  • Be attentive and silent on the field! Do not excessively talk to those around you…every minute we can get during rehearsal will help us succeed in Utah and SoCal!

  • No phones on the field! The only exception to this rule is using your phone for the UDB App.

  • Have a fun time on the field! Having the right mindset is everything…it is boring if you make it boring, and it is fun if you make it fun!
